The philosophy of Softlife is that greater demand comes from better service. To consciously operate with the needs of the customer in mind--not the needs of the developer.  We believe the software developer's job is to work himself out of a job.  To perform our services to the satisfaction of our customers and to make sure that our customers will be able to support our work without us is always our goal.  We are the builders and the maintenance men.  We come in and build your solution or fix your problem and we go away.  We don't build solutions that are prone to failure, are undocumented, or can't be understood by someone else.  And when you call us back, its because you want that continued level of service--not because you can't live without us.  As developers, we respond to your needs.  We do not expect you to respond to ours.  Take a look at the list of projects we have been involved with and the services we perform.  Your life is hard.  Our job is to make it a little, or a lot, softer.

Who We Are

Softlife Consulting was incorporated in 1994 to more greatly facilitate the expanded development efforts of Steve Thames, President and company owner. Steve is a 20 year veteran of software engineering and has been a contract agent for most of his career.  Having spent 8 of his 20 years in roles of management and 12 years as an independent contract agent, Steve gained a great understanding of the developer responsibility and a widely diverse knowledge of applications, languages, and operating systems.  Steve's resume contains more complete information about his career and knowledge.
